Church Usage

Who is it for?

  • Your core church members and leaders – This small group Bible study is Peacemaker Ministries' primary tool for helping entire churches learn and apply the basic principles of biblical peacemaking.
  • The people who attend your church but haven’t really connected yet – This study is a great way to get them off the fringe and involved in your church by addressing a topic they care about: conflict.
  • The unchurched – They really need a personal encounter with Jesus, but of course, they don’t know that. But they do know they need some help with conflicts ... and as long as it’s practical, they’ll give it a try.

How does it work?

This small group Bible study has eight sessions, each including a 30-minute teaching video followed by group discussion time.

Workplace Usage

Most of us spend a huge portion of our lives at work. And that’s why many of the conflicts we face take place at work—budget crunches, looming deadlines, difficult co-workers or supervisors... all these are situations that can quickly get messy.

So why would your workplace organisation want their managers, employees and work colleagues to study on conflict and relationships?

  • It will help all your team members. By studying Resolving Everyday Conflict, members of your workplace will gain practical tools to help them handle conflict and get along with others both at work and outside work (in their marriages, families, and friendships). Peacemaking is a life-skill that will continue to help them for years to come in all areas of life.
  • It is good for your workplace organisation. Workplace conflicts keep you from getting things done. It kills productivity—people have trouble doing their job, stay home, or even quit due to conflict at work. So if your team learns to resolve conflict quickly and constructively (or avoid it altogether!), you’ll have a healthier and more productive work environment.

Is the study explicitly Christian?

Yes, it is. The principles in this study come straight out of Scripture, and it is taught with the assumption that most people watching are Christians. So you’ll need to consider this as you determine whether the study should be mandatory or voluntary.

With that said, we worked hard to use “non-churchy” language and examples in the study so that it is more readily understandable and fits into the workplace context. It’s a highly accessible study that people will connect with regardless of how strong a church background they have.

Who is it for?

  • Every Staff Member
  • Managers, supervisors, and HR staff
  • Leaders of the organisation

How does it work?

This study for small groups has eight sessions, each including a 30-minute teaching video followed by group discussion time. The length and format make it ideal to offer over a lunch hour or any other one-hour time slot during the work day.

Are there other uses for this study beyond the workplace?

Sure.  We have a lot more information available for you to use this study in the church as a tool for outreach. In addition, we know of people who want to use it in prison ministry, Crisis pregnancy centers, rescue missions, and other similar ministries. Got a new idea?  Drop us a note and tell us about it! We'd love to hear other ways that God uses this resource in the hands of his people.
